PCB wishes good health to Bal Thackeray ? Cricket News Update

Excited about the revival of Indo-Pak cricketing ties, Zaka Ashraf, the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), believes that encounters between the neighbouring countries are much bigger than any other cricket event as they hold immense market value.

The Green Shirts are going to visit India for a limited-over series next month, which includes three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and a couple of T20s. If everything goes ahead according to the plan, Pakistan and India are going to play a bilateral series after a gap of almost five years.

The sporting relations between the two countries, who were divided in 1947, were halted as a result of the Mumbai Terror Attacks in 2008. However, ties between the PCB and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have started to ameliorate this year.

Pakistan?s domestic champion, Sialkot Stallions, took part in the Champions League T20 for the very first time and some of the country?s players are also expected to be in action in the sixth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

While speaking exclusively to Pakpassion, the Chairman of the PCB expressed that Indo-Pak matches create enormous interest among the sport?s fans all around the world, more than any other cricket series.

?The forthcoming revival series between India and Pakistan will be the biggest ever and much bigger than the Ashes between Australia and England?, Ashraf hoped. ?The matches between India and Pakistan will have more market value.?

On the other hand, the Shiv Sena Chief, Bal Thackeray, who was not in favour of a series with Pakistan, has been critically ill since last few days. As a goodwill-gesture, the PCB has wished him good health.

Ashraf said that he wants better relations between the people of the two countries and does not wish to promote hatred.

?We have sent him a letter with flower bouquet at his Shiv Sena office in Mumbai. In our letter, we have expressed our concern about his health and wished him speedy recovery. We have been praying for his good health and fans in this country want to see him at all match-venues. We want to win the hearts of Indian people,? he added.
