From the Bride? Dave and I were originally college sweethearts at Syracuse University, but through the years, we kept finding ourselves in the Big Apple, whether to visit my sister with her husband and daughter, or simply to do the ?tourist? thing of getting lost in the city. Sure enough, we both ended up in Manhattan, where we fell in love with each other again. The city brought with it a whole new set of adventures and lifestyle such as Broadway shows, walks through Central Park, and of course, all of our amazing culinary experiences from finding ?hole in the wall? eateries to countless food tours. I loved our engagement story, starting from Dave asking for my family?s blessings to the very moment he proposed to me on a rowboat on a Central Park lake. It was here in New York that Dave and I moved our relationship forward to what became our unforgettable brick red and autumn-colored wedding.
The style of our wedding was heavily influenced by remnants of the old industrial Tribeca scene, as well as our very own church and beloved community of Trinity Baptist on the Upper East Side. This was the wedding we had been waiting for ? just being surrounded by loved ones, in this old historical landmark of a church, where it seemed only those who were deeply-grafted into our community were married off within the decorative stone and pillared sanctuary. I felt the reception spoke very much about our personalities and our relationships with others. The space was intimate, friendly and cozy, with details that suggested we were enjoying a very personal festivity within a great big world. And for those of you who are wondering what to do with the extra space in the corner of the reception venue: we would highly recommend setting a photo booth there for all your guests to not only take home a favor they will keep, but also for you to take a peek at their goofy side and perhaps even discover some hidden tattoos!
