Wii U?s Nintendo eShop will allow users to purchase downloadable versions of select retail games, downloadable content, free demos, and exclusive titles. If you hook your Wii U online, the Nintendo eShop will be available at Wii U?s launch on November 18th (launch day) via an update.
We now have the first image of Nintendo?s new iteration of the online store, straight from Nintendo of Japan?s official website. Mario and Luigi star on the interface, which appears to be the home page. Does this mean you can buy your very own Mario Bros.? Probably not, but its always nice to see the Nintendo mascots greet you in a new form of software.

You may notice that the very same screen is shown on the Wii U GamePad as on the TV. You can of course navigate the store entirely using the touch screen on the controller, with the TV presumably following your navigation at the same time.
It may just be a single image, but are you excited about the possibilities of the Wii U eShop?
