Department Overview

The Corporate Real Estate Strategy & Services (CRESS) Department provides real estate services that meet the long-term needs and services of the Company that enables an open, collaborative and workplace environment.? The department develops company-wide strategy, policies and procedures for the acquisition of real estate, management and development of the workplace environment. CRESS provides subject matter expertise on a variety of real estate, project and facilities management areas of disciplines. Program Management is responsible for executing major projects and maintains knowledge of design & construction management, project planning & execution, project estimating and procurement for PG&E?s property renewal and new construction activities.

Position Summary and Responsibilities

The Director, Program Management is responsible for developing and leading a comprehensive strategy for all phase of program management and delivery of key CRESS projects including initiation, planning execution, monitoring, controlling and closeout phases.? In conjunction with Sourcing, procurement and contract for services for a portfolio of 7 million square feet of property, more than 200 locations and 630 buildings throughout Northern and Central California, with a budget of approximately $60+ million in capital projects for the Company. The function leads development of scope, time, cost, risk and quality.? Maintain a positive environment that promotes a high performance team made up of 11 internal employees and 20 outsourced project managers and the activities of numerous vendors involved in planning, design, construction and turnkey delivery project managers.

The Director of Project Management acts as the primary face of the Corporate Real Estate team internally and externally in all matters concerning project planning, design, construction and regulatory compliance. This individual in conjunction with the Strategy & Client Relationship Management team will partner with the Business Groups, Finance and other business partners to understand business requirements and common goals for CRESS business and operations plans alignment to ensure and champion the successful execution of projects and? improvements in a satisfactory, efficient and effective manner.

This individual will partner with senior leaders in the various lines of business throughout the Company to ensure that all current and future business requirements and common goals are taken into account in CRESS business and project planning. This effort includes the development of policies, programs, processes and procedures to ensure proper planning and responsiveness to the Company?s growth or contraction over time.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a multi-year plan for the project planning, including strategy, business, financial and operational planning.
  • Engage with lines of business senior leaders teams as a primary CRESS point of contact and accountability in project planning and execution.
  • Lead the development of capital plans, budget plans and forecasts, including development and implementation of cost efficiency efforts in partnership with finance groups and vendors.
  • Oversee the preparation and maintenance of project documentation: project plans, status reports, change requests, and resource requests.
  • Oversee internal and Service Provider team work to write and approve Statement of Work documents outlining all aspects of a project.
  • Identify risks and proactively find solutions for project level concerns by leveraging lessons learned from previous projects.
  • Prepare risk mitigation plans for major projects to account for unforeseen delays.
  • Play a key role in monitoring, managing the performance of vendors as it relates to areas of responsibility. Drive vendor performance, best practices, and methodologies to ensure that objectives are being met.
  • Advise senior management periodically on CRESS status for company long-range planning initiatives 24. Lead CRESS? efforts in developing the Company?s General Rate Case
  • Partner with the FM and RE Strategy & CRM to ensure strategic planning is integrated with project management plans and aligned with overall corporate strategy.
  • Develop and deliver executive-level presentations.
  • Lead the monitoring, tracking, trending and reporting process of company-wide performance metrics, ensuring both accuracy of data and timeliness of reports. as well as the Safety & Shared Services ?green book? review.

Reporting Relationship

The Director, Program Management will report directly to the Director, Corporate Real Estate Strategy & Services

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • A Bachelor?s degree in Architecture, Constructions, Engineering, Corporate Space Design or a related field, or equivalent years of work experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years? experience in a real estate, design, construction and project planning and implementation function is required.
  • A minimum of 7 years? experience in a leadership capacity is required.

  • Master?s degree or equivalent in management, Construction, or related technical field strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence diverse teams at all levels of the organization
  • Ability and motivation to lead others, promote a team environment, and coach and mentor professional, senior level staff.
  • Drives continuous improvement.
  • Interact effectively at the senior leader level in presenting the proper strategy and portfolio planning for real estate at PG&E going forward.
  • Proven strong, diverse and complex design and project construction management knowledge
